Ganesh was sadly abandoned by his parents as a result of his encephelocele and has lived for the last few years on the streets of Kolkata. He has however recently moved into a home and it is through their efforts that Ganesh came to our attention.
We hope that his documents will be ready shortly and he will be able to come to the UK soon.
Veang
Veang is from Laos and is our third Lao patient. Like Pan and Dokchanh she has an encephelocele.
This is a condition where the skull does not close during pregnancy and the brain herniates through this gap. In Veang's case this is in her mid face. As a result one of her eyes has also been pushed out of alignment.
We hope she will be able to come to the UK shortly.
